Hello Winter, my old friend...
I welcome you with open arms because as much as I love a cute summer sandal, I love layering pieces even more - and you make that very necessary!
In celebration of the weather cooling down, I have put together my top 3 outerwear suggestions for this season AND have made each suggestion shoppable for a variety of budgets. Whether you are able to splurge on a designer item (lucky you!) or want to save some cash without compromising too much on quality or just want the best bang for your buck - I've got you covered with this Splurge, Save or Steal series.
Top 3 Winter Outerwear Buys
1. The Checked Double Breasted Jacket
A tailored, check-plaid jacket is a must this season and should you wish to purchase one, just walk into any store on the high street and they are bound to have their own version. The two main colour combos you will find are grey/white and camel/brown. Personally, I've chosen to go for the camel colour as it adds warmth to my mostly black wardrobe and has a much more classic feel to it. I also recommend the double breasted style (two front columns of buttons) to emanate a more powerful air.

2. The Red Wool Coat
Red is THE colour of the season and I have to be honest with you, at first I was a little apprehensive at the thought of including a bright red coat into the wardrobe mix. Not because I'm afraid of how bright it is but rather due to the fact that my high school uniform consisted of a fire-engine red blazer and didn't want to feel like I was back in Year 12! Time to embrace the red and give a needed colour injection into life, and here are my picks to do so...
3. The Leather and Shearling Jacket
I've gone with Acne Studios for my designer inspiration as their cult-classic Velocite shearling jacket is to die for and so well suited to a British winter. Closely mimicking the design and cozy feel of the Acne piece, the Save and Steal options do a good job at providing a more affordable option. Styled with a pair of skinny jeans or patterned stockings & a shift dress, this jacket will become a winter wardrobe staple.
