I love a good boot. The kind of boot that you can put on in the morning and then spend hours navigating the cobbled streets in Paris, walking kilometres along the Champs-Élysées and still feel like your feet will live to fight another day.
When I was living in Australia, I used to buy my boots from Jo Mercer – I worked there as a uni student so knew the product inside out. I always found them to be of good quality, comfortable and could stand the test of time. I had one pair of ankle boots from there that were still going strong, even after 8 years, but were due for an upgrade. Now, living in a new country and still getting used to which are the best brands for what I prefer, I have found my boot upgrade in the form of Aldo’s ‘Tatianna’.
At £90, they’re not the cheapest boots out there but they do meet my specific list of 'musts': leather upper, almond pointed toe, western style and mid heel (5cm – low enough to walk around in all day but high enough to still feel dressed up).
And yes, they are comfortable! I also like to put an insole into all of my boots since I find it greatly improves the comfort during an all-day wear, which I have also done with this pair.
It’s looking like these are going to be a well-utilised addition to my wardrobe until I am able to upgrade to my dream pair – the Saint Laurent Rock 40 Leather Chelsea boots - but until then, keep walking, Tatianna!
